Golden Eagles

The Golden Eagle is North America,s largest bird of prey and the national bird of Mexico.

Golden Eagles are dark brown with lighter  golden-brown plumage on their heads and necks.

These birds can dive at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour. Golden Eagles have a wingspan of 6 to 7.5ft. Most modern planes use elements of the Golden Eagles for stealth and aerodynamics. Golden Eagles can live for up to 25-30 years. Did you know Mongolia’s use Golden Eagles for hunting?

Golden Eagles pairs can maintain territories of 155 square kilometers that 3x the size of new plymouth nz. Golden eagle nest in high places such as cliffs trees or human structures. These majestic birds range from mexico through much of North western America as far north Alaska; they also appear in the east but are uncommon. Golden Eagles live are also in Asia, northern africa, and Europe.

Golden Eagles use their speed of 241 kilometer per hour and their super sharp talons to snatch up prey such as rabbits, marmots, and ground squirrels. They also eat carrion, reptiles, birds, fish, and smaller fare such as large insects.

I like Golden Eagles because of how rare they are; their speed and looks, golden eagles are truly unique birds.
